2025 Photo/Art Contest
Accepting Entries March 1-April 4, 2025
It’s time for the 4th annual Biology Department Photo/Art Contest!
We invite members of our community (broadly-defined) to share photos of biologists and organisms in action, interesting micrographs, or Biology-themed works of art for 4th annual Photo/Art contest.
The winning entries will be selected for framing and mounting on our new Biology gallery wall on the first floor of Gottwald. The top three entries will be awarded prizes!
Submission Process
Photos (or images of 2D works of art) may be submitted by uploading them here. A maximum of one (1) photo or work of art may be submitted per entrant.
The Fine Print
- When completing your online submission, you will be required to sign a statement that says “I attest that I am the person who took the photo or created the work of art that I am submitting and that my submission adheres to the contest Rules and Requirements.”
- The deadline for submitting photos is on or before 5 p.m. on April 4, 2025. Winners will be announced on April 21 at the Biology Department Swards luncheon (12-1 p.m., Gottwald Atrium).
- Carefully read the complete contest rules on the submission form before submitting your entries.
- Submissions will be evaluated by the Biology Department Awards Committee; winning entries may be displayed in Gottwald, included in future University publications, and/or showcased on the Biology website.
- All submissions (winning and non-winning entries) may be used in marketing activities for the purpose of promoting the Biology Department and the University of Richmond.
