Dr. Tawny Chamberlain

Tawny Chamberlain is a licensed physical therapist and board-certified clinical specialist in geriatric physical therapy (GCS).  During her time in practice, she has had the privilege of working with diverse patient populations in a variety of settings, including acute care, subacute rehabilitation, pelvic health, and aquatics. She brings this hands-on, real-world experience into the classroom, connecting biological theory to medical and healthcare applications.  Prior to joining the University of Richmond, Chamberlain served as the founding program director of the physical therapist assistant (PTA) program at South University.  During her tenure as associate faculty, she also served as department chair, helping to support a total of eight PTA programs across the institution.

Outside of the classroom, Chamberlain has served as a textbook and online resource contributor, presented at national and regional conferences, and contributed to physical therapy education through her work with The Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT). She truly enjoys teaching and mentoring students as they work toward their goals. For fun, she enjoys traveling with her husband, working on home improvement projects, and paddleboarding.
